Medicine Hunter Chris Kilham has experimented with Tongkat Ali for several years. The herbal extract was introduced to Kilham by Annie Eng who pushed Kilham to explore the merits of herbal medicines and therapies.
Kilham and Eng visited Malaysia to observe the extraction procedure first hand. It was time well spent. Kilham was impressed with the Eurycoma Longifolia tress that were selected for harvesting. Kilham described the tree as “a medium size, slender tree reaching 10 meters in height grown in Malaysia, Burma, Thailand and Indonesia.”
Eng and Kilham observed the harvesting process that has not changed much for centuries. Both were amazed by the effort needed to excavate each 2-3 meter root. The Eurycoma Longifolia root is no ordinary root. Unfortunately, the root grows vertically making the excavation a difficult and totally labor intensive effort.
Three natives comprised the crew working on the tree. A photo of the root revealed a stout root nearly three meters in length and almost two feet in circumference. The procurement of the mature roots is at the heart of the Tongkat Ali Extract development.
The Malaysian government is betting big on the success of this herb. The government has invested millions of dollars to enable the success of the all-natural, non-habit forming testosterone builder and remedy for erectile dysfunction as well as a dynamic body building aid.
Not only has the government provided funds for manufacturing upgrades, but the government has also begun to cultivate the Eurycoma Longifolia trees by creating large plantations of the colorful tree. As it takes twenty years for each tree to reach maturity, the return on this investment will take years before the trees are ready for harvesting.
However, the demand for the Tongkat Ali is robust. Tests have been performed on animals for years. When human testing commenced, western cultures began to show interest in the herbal extract. For humans, the results have all been positive. The results of the 2004 ZRT laboratories tests showed that 90 percent of the users experienced higher energy levels, increased testosterone and more sustainable erections.
As Kilham determined, “Tongkat Ali is a scientifically studied plant which holds up brilliantly under close scrutiny. The root contains a plethora of beneficial compounds, including potent protective antioxidants which inhibit cellular aging.”
Kilham reiterated his broad endorsement of the Tongkat Ali Extract on March 24th, when he was invited to appear on Dr. Oz’s television show. Dr. Oz is one of the leading heart surgeons in the world. He has long advocated for alternative therapies and medicines. Oz supported Kilhamís presentation of Tongkat Ali and demand for the extract immediately skyrocketed.
Due to the deforestation of much of southeast Asia, supply is pressured. Indonesia and Malaysia are now the principal providers of the Tongkat Ali root. The governmentís vision of Eurycoma Longifolia plantations is very timely. If the herb is determined to have cancer curing capabilities, supply will be even more pressured soon.
As Kilham said, “To every appearance, Tongkat Ali is a market volcano of Krakatau proportions, ready to blow.” Find out why!
